2. Scope
This policy covers the focusapps.ch website, our macOS apps (CO₂ Cannon, Energize and Tideline), Buzz Night on Apple TV, and Inkglobe on iPhone. The vetra.care web app is a separate service with its own privacy policy, available at vetra.care.
3. Visiting this website
When you visit focusapps.ch, our hosting provider and content-delivery network automatically process technical data needed to deliver and secure the site, typically your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. This site uses no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising. It loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is transmitted to Google's servers when the fonts are fetched.
4. Cookies
The website itself sets no tracking or marketing cookies. Our content-delivery network (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site against malicious traffic. Because these are essential to operate the service securely, no consent banner is required.
5. Contacting us
When you submit the contact form, the data you enter (your name, email address and message) is sent to our server and delivered to us by email through our email provider (see section 7). If you email us directly, we receive the data you provide in that message. In both cases we process this data solely to handle and respond to your enquiry.
6. Our apps
CO₂ Cannon and Energize run entirely on your Mac. They require no account and send no usage data, analytics or telemetry to us, and they store their settings only on your own device.
Tideline shows how much of your own AI usage limits you have spent. For Claude, it reads the OAuth token that Claude Code has already saved in your macOS Keychain and uses it only to request your usage figures directly from Anthropic (api.anthropic.com), under your own account. For OpenAI Codex and Grok, it reads usage from each CLI's own local log files on your Mac, with no network request. Tideline sends no usage data, analytics or telemetry to us. The Keychain token is used only for the request to Anthropic and is never written to disk. Tideline stores the returned usage numbers (percentages and a timestamp, never your token) locally on your Mac so the gauge can display at launch. These are overwritten on each refresh and kept until you clear them in the app. Deleting Tideline does not remove them: they stay in your Library folder, under Application Support, until you delete that folder yourself. Tideline holds no Keychain permission of its own, never changes one, and asks you for nothing. You can stop the read at any time with the app's "Turn Off Claude Usage" control, which also forgets the Claude usage numbers stored on your Mac. The "Clear Stored Usage Data" control forgets the stored numbers for every provider.
Buzz Night runs on Apple TV. Guests join from a phone browser on the same local network. The Apple TV is the server. The app does not send data to us. There is no account. Names and scores stay on that Apple TV until the app is deleted. The phone loads a buzzer page from the television. An optional light-show setting can talk to a light controller on the same network. Those connections stay on the local network.
Inkglobe is a geography game for iPhone. It has no account and no analytics, and it sends no data to us. Your progress and your settings are stored on your iPhone, and the app does not upload them. The app's only network use is Apple's Game Center, and only if you sign in to Game Center. If you do, your route scores and achievements go to Apple and are handled under Apple's privacy policy. If you allow it, the app also shows your Game Center friends on the daily boards. Inkglobe test builds are distributed through Apple's TestFlight. If you test a build, Apple shares the feedback you send and crash reports with us.
When any of our apps checks for updates through its built-in update mechanism, or you download an app, the update or download server necessarily receives your IP address and basic request information in order to deliver the file (see section 7 for the providers involved).
7. Third-party services and international transfers
We rely on a small number of providers who may process the data above on our behalf: our host (in the EU), Cloudflare (content delivery, security, and the contact-form endpoint), Maileroo (delivery of contact-form messages by email), Google (web fonts), GitHub (software-update feed and download mirror), and, for any future App Store release, Apple. Some of these providers are located outside Switzerland and the EU, including the United States. Where that is the case, transfers are based on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and applicable adequacy decisions.
8. Legal bases
Where the EU GDPR applies, we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site and apps (Art. 6(1)(f)), the performance of, or steps prior to, a contract when you download or contact us (Art. 6(1)(b)), and your consent where required (Art. 6(1)(a)). Processing in Switzerland is carried out in accordance with the revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP).
9. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected. Technical server logs are retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and to meet any legal obligations.
10. Data security
The website and downloads are served over encrypted HTTPS connections, and we work only with reputable providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access your personal data and to request its rectification, erasure or restriction, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw any consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, your local supervisory authority. 12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on focusapps.ch, bearing the date shown above, is the one that applies.
